In the following clip from the show “After Hours – With Daniel Boulud“, the Master takes a break from making mojitos and shows how to make the Ortanique (orange) Martini.
If you haven’t heard of it, “After Hours” appears on a high definition channel named “Mojo“, which is available on the Time Warner, Comcast, and several other leading cable networks. The clip comes from an episode that features Chef Cindy Hutson from Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables, Florida. You can also see the full episode on the Mojo website.
Of course, the best way to experience this martini is to visit Ortanique on the Mile in person. Cheers!
Hi everybody, I’m encouraged by the responses so far. I have not started to tell customers about this site, yet some of you have already found it. That really speaks to the power of the Internet. Anyway guys, keep in mind that the site is in it’s embryonic stages still. It will look different from time to time as I play with different color pallets and pictures. The substance and the info and stories will not change. I hope to expand it with many more helpful and informative bites. I hope to talk to you about food, drinks, wine and the business in general. Even though this site is meant for everyone, I will try to always keep the customer in mind first. This site started as an idea I got from a customer a couple of years back, when he asked me a question about a drink, and he told me how helpful it was for him to call me at the restaurant, and how surprised he was that I helped him with his situation, ( I do not recommend you guys call me at my place of work). But I always find myself answering many questions and showing customers how to make all types of different drinks. And that’s how I got this idea rolling. I will also be expanding too include people in the business as well. I will have something like a “Bartenders Corner” tab where service workers can go vent and leave messages and questions alike. I will be adding magazine articles/stories and TV appearances that I have made. I will be calling that the “Ego Corner” lol. Well it probably won’t be called that even if that is what it will look like to some of you. Also, please keep in mind that the “Mojito Store” section is a mock-up, to see how it works. I haven’t recommended anything yet. But as I do, the store will then be up and running…
Thanks for your patronage and your patience. More good stuff to come…
